What a chauffeur-guide actually means
With LankaLux you do not collect a rental car, and you do not join a coach. You travel with a dedicated English-speaking chauffeur-guide and a private vehicle for the whole stay, including airport pickup and drop-off.
They drive, keep the days unhurried, and share context along the way: when to leave for a park gate, which stretch of coast is calmer that week, where a short stop is worth it. We describe this honestly as a chauffeur-guide, not as a licensed national-guide qualification.
Why travellers choose this over self-driving
Sri Lanka rewards curiosity and punishes tight schedules. Distances look small on a map. The chauffeur-guide absorbs the logistics so you can watch tea country go by, or ask to linger. Compare this with self-driving if you are still weighing the two.
The vehicle stays with you
The same car (or van) remains yours from arrival to departure. Families often prefer the Toyota Voxy; couples sometimes choose a sedan. See Our Fleet on the homepage, or ask us to match a vehicle to luggage and child seats.
What is and is not included
The chauffeur-guide, private vehicle, and airport transfers are part of the journey we plan. Train tickets, safari jeep hire, park entrance fees and optional activities are not included unless we specifically say so. We arrange them where we can; fees are paid separately or on site. For a limited time, confirmed bookings include a free safari jeep at one selected park (the jeep only, not tickets), until the end of October.
