The train
Many travellers reach Ella by the hill-country train, one of the island's slow pleasures. Seats are arranged in advance where we can; tickets are a separate cost. Your chauffeur-guide typically meets you at the station. The train, explained covers what to expect.
How many nights
Two nights lets you walk a viewpoint at a civilised hour and keep an unhurried afternoon. Little Adam's Peak and Nine Arches are popular; we would rather you do one well than three in a rush.
Onward
From Ella you can descend toward Yala or the south coast. A tailor-made plan can linger in tea country if that is the point of the trip.
