We describe this honestly as a chauffeur-guide, not as a licensed national-guide qualification.
What self-driving asks of you
Self-driving in Sri Lanka means local traffic patterns, rural night driving, parking at temples, and navigating around trains, tuk-tuks and unmarked turns. Some travellers enjoy that. Many first-time visitors find it uses the energy they wanted for the island itself.
Who a chauffeur-guide suits
Families, couples who want the train without luggage logistics, and anyone combining Sigiriya, the hills and a park in one trip. You can linger without renegotiating a hire car return. See Our Fleet if vehicle size matters.
What is still separate
Train tickets, safari jeep hire and park entrance fees are not included unless we say so. We arrange them where we can. For a limited time, confirmed bookings include a free safari jeep at one selected park (the jeep only, not tickets) until the end of October.
